Union City, Alameda County
Union City lies between Hayward and Fremont on the east shore of San Francisco Bay, and BART trains have stopped here since the system opened in 1972. More than half its residents are of Asian descent, with large Filipino, Indian and Chinese communities. The hills on the east side are protected in Dry Creek Pioneer Regional Park, former ranch land given to the public by the Meyers sisters.
